Stay at Home Sunday

I never left the yard. It was bright and cool and the yard was full of birds. The bird blind is super, I can see where it will be hot in there this summer, I'll run a cord out and use a fan. I'm thinking about getting another one to carry on the scooter, and leave the one in the yard set up. Photography is all I do, about all I can do physically, so I don't mind spending a few bucks for something useful. I've got all my gear ready for the nesting season at the alligator farm, I can't make the trip often so I try to make it count.

And that fat squirrel is getting his fill, I see.

They finally started returning here after our resident red shoulder decided to go off to raise some babies or he!!, lol.

Last year we could count 20 or more tree rodents at one visit!

If it hadn't been for squirrels most of our ancestors would have starved to death, we owe them some respect.
There was an old mountain boy who saw a note pinned up at the general store, "Best squirrel dog in the world, FOR SALE". He rode around to the place, man took him out back, showed him an old hound with no legs. He said, "how can this dog be a squirrel dog, it ain't got no legs"? The man told him, "well, you get a wheelbarrow too, just load the dog in it and do what it tells you". The boy bought the dog, loaded it in the wheelbarrow, and, no one saw him for a week. When he showed up, his shoes were wore out, his clothes were in rags, he was all scratched up and battered. He went back to the man, and said, "I want my money back, you didn't tell me this dog would run deer too"!
